St Peter's Church

"The 15th century Poppy Head pews, which depict floral designs, animals, saints, angels and townsfolk, are well worth careful study and are thought to be the work of three craftsmen. The remains of the rood loft floor beams can be clearly seen where the chacel has been walled up. On leaving search for the scratch sundial on a south aisle butress. This gave the 14th century Sacristan a 'rough idea' of when to ring the services."
